Christmas Greetings from the Deweys

It's hard to believe another year has past us by. Stop! Drop! and ROLL! and get ready for the latest on the Deweys!

Best Dewey moments of 2010:

*The release of Starcraft 2 (Daddy had been waiting for ages!)
I don't think he left the house the entire month of August. LOL.

*Baby Zelda took her first steps!

*Finding RaVoe going on the BIG pottie.
(while reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets)

*Mommy got a Job selling Scentsy!

*Finally Getting a vacation!
(we spent 4 days in Vernal and loved every minute)

*Bawling our eyes out as they got those Chile guys out of that big hole!
I still don't even know why they were down there.

*Getting together with the Gals to watch, Eat Pray Love, while literally eating, praying, and loving every minute of it!

* THE BEST MOMENT OF 2010 --- Would definitely have to be the surprise I came home to on our Anniversary. Devon had written me this poem.

When I Save the Day

When I save the day I worry so much about Peach

To think what Bowser could be doing to her ugh, that scaly creep

I will never show discomfort though in the heat of a battle

I will never show any weakness until the bad guys skedaddle

I know I must be strong for her and that's what keeps me going

I must get there and save her in time this I'm knowing

People may wonder why I don't ask for rewards and stuff

But when I see Peach's face, that's reward enough

He is really SOOOO talented!

Now, on a really serious note:
We all know challenges come in all different shapes and sizes, and this year the Lord decided it was time to really test the faith of the Deweys. Most of you may have already heard, but this past summer doctors discovered a severe case of hypersensitivity to a yellow substance in our baby girl. (I'm tearing up as I write this.) Yes, our little RaVoe is allergic to cheese. Needless to say, our lives have been turned completely upside down and we've decided all we can really do is take it one step at a time. We have appreciated all of the gifts and support we have received from family members and friends at this difficult time in our lives. Thank you all for your prayers. Probably the best tool we've had to help us at this time is this book. I recommend it for everyone! Even if you aren't dealing with the atrocities of having your precious baby girl being allergic to your family's main substance (sorry if I sound bitter).

On a lighter note, Daddy finally graduated and is now "certified" to stay at home and be the most wonderful daddy! The girls love it, and so does Mommy, now that she has more time for selling Scentsy.

Thanks to all who have helped make 2010 so fabulous! We love you all and wish you a VERY Merry Christmas!!!

Don't Bless Me

Us Wollenziens were born with allergies, nothing serious besides the fact that we sneeze. In my case, a lot. I never sneeze just once.
It's really beginning to frost my cookies when I'm sitting in class or church and I sneeze and people feel like it's okay to interrupt the teacher or speaker to "bless me". If it were just once, it would maybe be okay. But you know what they say, "Once the rice is pudding, it's too late to reclaim the rice."
So there I am, sneezing 5 times, and having to hear, "bless you" 5 different times. That means interrupting the teacher 5 times, and then having to sit through awkward moments when I know that people are waiting for me to say thank you. But I refuse. I don't need your blessings. I don't have the Bubonic plague, and I'm not dying.

I don't know who started the whole, "bless you" routine. But it really needs to stop.

I imagine it was someone like this guy:

Or these guys:

Or probably this lady:

I can almost see it on her lips.

So please, next time you hear someone sneeze, just leave them in peace.

It's Tradition

Hopefully you didn't miss out on the 2008 Wollenzien Family Music video.

A Thanksgiving event that has now become a tradition. Just this past Thanksgiving we dressed Willy up again and got everyone together (virtually where necessary) and did it again.

Here's the 2010 Wollenzien Thanksgiving Music Video.

Oh Hey You (あなた)

Back in the day... Chip, one of my best friends growing up, had a foreign exchange student named You. I'm pretty sure it was spelled like this though, そなた.

Back in high school we used to tease each other every time we heard the name You, pretending the person was talking about Chip's little house guest. It got even worse when the neighbor also got an exchange student. Her name was "We" probably spelled, 私達. Of course the two of them became good friends and we had You and We hanging out all the time.

To this day I still think about You (the foreign exchange student) every time I hear her name in every day sentences.

Dewey: Was it You that took the garbage out?
Me: Chip's foreign exchange student? What is she doing around here?

Dewey: Did You eat all the rest of the M&Ms?
Me: So.. she not only loves Hello Kitty, but she's also a big fan of chocolate?

Dewey: I love You
Me: What the $(^%^* ???

I'm sure I'm not the only one of my friends who has this problem. You had a big impact on our lives, and we will never forget her. Do you think You forgot us?

Donny Osmond's Flowers

Did you know that the UPS uniform was voted the sexiest uniform for a man to wear. Well, did you also know that my man works at the UPS store. Yeah, I know. Super sexy.
That's not the only perk of his job. The UPS store has individually owned mail boxes, and our good friend Donny Osmond happens to have one there. Yeah, that's right. Dream-Boat Donny get's his mail at Dewey's place of employment.

Apparently there are other people who know that because people often send gifts to Donny, via the UPS store. And by people I imagine elderly women, probably teachers and cat lovers, or just THESE ladies. Well, the other day some flowers came in for Donny, a beautiful arrangement. So Dewey calls up his buddy Donny, who's currently in Vegas selling out seats at more that 100 bucks a pop.

Dewey: Oh hi Donny, it's Dewey here at the UPS store. I Just wanted to let you know that some flowers came in for you today.

Donny: Ah great, I love my fans. What wonderful people they are. Too bad I'm in Vegas making millions.

Dewey: Yeah, that's too bad. They're really pretty.

Donny: You know what Dewey... How about you take them home to that cute little wife of yours. And send her my love.

Dewey: Sure will Donny, good luck tonight. And no matter what anyone else says, I'd see you over Penn and Teller any time.

Donny: You're a good man Dewey, a very good man.

(The conversation ends)

So that night Dewey comes home with this flower arrangement, and now I have Donny Osmond's flowers in my kitchen.

Thank you obsessed fan.

Now here is the truth. If they weren't Donny's flowers, I'd be ticked. Dewey knows I don't ever want him spending money on flowers. My theory is, if it's not edible, it's not worth it.

What do i blog about?

I don't have cute kids. Actually, I just don't have kids. So I'm not really sure what to post here. In Relief Society the other day we talked about how some people (mostly women) get depressed by reading other people's blogs. I guess it is a way for people to glamorize their lives and this can make other people feel they are missing out or not living up to what they should or could be.

I hope this blog does the opposite of that.

I intend to inspire and entertain, and maybe even make you glad you aren't me. Or mostly just make you stop by my place for some string cheese, because I have a lot of it in my fridge.

Hello blogging world,

I'm new here so please be kind.
